1-Libertango
Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992)
Libertango is one of the most famous works by Argentine composer and bandoneon player Astor Piazzolla. The title combines the words "libertad" (freedom) and "tango," reflecting Piazzolla's innovative approach to transforming traditional tango into a modern concert music style known as nuevo tango.
With its energetic rhythm, dramatic melodies, and passionate character, Libertango captures the spirit of Buenos Aires and the expressive power of tango. Although originally written for bandoneon and ensemble, the piece has been widely arranged for many instruments, including classical guitar.
